Monday 2 June: BLOG update

Well I bagged Nathanael out for being a slack prick when it comes to updates, so I'd better actually keep them coming. The recording continues, and a bit of shape is starting to take place! All of the drum tracks are now down, and two piano tracks recorded too. This week we're hoping to get Bigsie's bass tracks all done.

Saturday night while Scott Nathanael and I consumed the best part of 2.5 beer cartons, we got a call from our friends Homeless Yellow, who have asked as to play a gig at The Zoo on the 9th of July. We'll keep reminding you all as the date comes closer.

While we're on the topic of Saturday night, if you can be bothered searching all over Facebook you'll also find a drunken freestyle song where the three of us sang (badly) to Scott's wife Erinna with a song called "She's got no Air-in-her"....deadset woaful.

The big news we've had this week is that we've been asked by good friend 8ball Aitken to be a support act at his CD launch on Friday the 8th of August at The Globe. This is going to be a huge event, and we hope you can all get down there for it and help support 8 Ball. If you haven't seen him before, he's an amazing entertainer so you won't be disappointed.

Righto that'll do....

Cheers

Monday 19 May: BLOG update

Well kids we are certainly long overdue for a band update...I've found that waiting for Nathanael to write these things is like waiting for Alf to die on Home & Away. We all know that it's going to happen eventually, but it just seems like its taking forever! In his defense though, he does spend 85% of the week chasing his dog around the neighbourhood.

Well Scott and Nathanael are busy laying the drum tracks for the new album. I think Scott's looking forward to it being done so he can just kick back in one of his 32 flannies and sink beers with me...at least thats what I'm hoping. Songs 6 and 7 are being editted at the moment, and then 3 more to go before we'll move onto bass with Scott B (Bigsie).

This has nothing to do with the topic, but fans should know that Scott Maynard's underpants have a gooch hole in them the size of Tasmania. Hope you're not having dinner.

In other news we've entered the band in an online competition on www.uncharted.com.au, and the band is doing very well to start with! While writing this we're sitting 5th out of the 1500 odd bands that have entered. If we can get into 4th place we'll be on the home page for the site, so we need you all to get on there. Register and you can vote once every hour, so feel free to piss sleep off for the next 41 days and just vote non stop. That's what Nathanael's doing.

Cheers

Wig

REQUEST Costello (Drunk at the Wheel) on Super Request

Wed 31 October 2007
Peter Costello is driving drunk at the wheel, so says Brisbane indie rock band The Reversals. The Reversals disclaim themselves from being a political band, however, they believe that satire, good humour and great music is their artistic way of presenting contemporary Australian issues. Thus evolved their first single Costello (Drunk at the Wheel), which is a whimsical social comment on where Australia is in 2007.

Be rest assured that you’ll be tapping your feet and singing along with the infectious sound of this clever track by The Reversals.

In the height of the circus called the election, the song Costello has been written to help us laugh about our attraction to politics and power. The lyrics cynically question the motivation of one of Australia’s most intriguing individuals.

“We hope that the song will be enjoyed by the public, whatever their political persuasion” says songwriter Nathanael, 26 of Brisbane, Queensland.

Recently performing at The Zoo and The Grass Roots Music Festival, The Reversals are currently recording their debut album due for release in 2008. The Reversals play the Beenleigh Jamboree on Sunday 11 November, and Ric’s Bar in Fortitude Valley on Monday 19 November.

Monday 16 June: BLOG update

Well "Uncharted" is over....and let me tell you, after voting every single day we are sooooo glad!  No, we didn't win - BUT - we did come 21st which we think is pretty damn good considering there were over 500 bands voted for nationwide!  The whole band want to send a big rediculously huge super-sized thank you to every single one of you who has voted every hour for the past 21 odd days.  We want to send an extra special thank you to Sarah Kenny, who has been voting for the Reversals every single hour, on the hour, for the past three weeks.  Sarah even knew that the "Uncharted" site wasn't working before we did!!!

The Zoo gig is creeping closer, and we really need to get into the Zoo's good books on this one.  So if you can make it, please do try to come - July 9th

Well I don't have much else to say.  I'll give you all an album update in the next week!!!

Cheers
Wig.
